GLASS SHAPED BY LIGHT, ARCHITECTURE, AND IMAGINATION.
In Ivan Lambrov’s practice, glass becomes a living medium – a material that captures light and transforms it into color, form, and emotion. For more than three decades, he has explored the space between art and architecture, creating works that do more than inhabit their surroundings: they reshape the way those spaces are experienced.

LIGHT, SPACE AND ART GLASS
For more than three decades, Ivan Lambrov has explored the artistic possibilities of glass through two distinct areas of practice – architectural art glass and contemporary studio glass. His work brings together an academic background in monumental art, extensive technical experience, and the freedom of individual artistic expression, transforming glass into a medium for exploring light, form, and space.
Ivan Lambrov graduated from the National Academy of Art in Sofia, specializing in Mural Painting. His academic training in monumental art shaped a strong sensitivity to composition, color, and the relationship between the artwork and the architectural environment – principles that continue to underpin his work in glass.
For Ivan Lambrov, glass is more than a material. It is a medium in which light, form, and imagination converge, allowing matter to carry both emotion and meaning.
Contemporary Studio Glass
In his artistic practice, Ivan Lambrov creates sculptures and glass artworks in which light, color, and form come together to create a distinctive sculptural expression.
Working primarily with kiln-cast and fused glass, he explores themes rooted in nature, mythology, and cultural memory.
Architectural Art Glass
In 1992, Ivan Lambrov founded his studio, IBIS Art Glass, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
For more than three decades, the studio has developed bespoke artistic solutions for architectural spaces, integrating glass as an organic part of the surrounding environment. Working with techniques such as stained glass, fused glass, slumped glass, and mosaic, he creates works that shape and enhance the character of the space.
