Mosaics in Natural Minerals and Marble Modules
In his mosaics, Ivan Lambrov works with natural minerals and marble modules as materials that carry their own history, colour, and structure. The individual elements are arranged into rhythmic surfaces in which the image gradually emerges through nuance, texture, and the movement of line.
Natural stone gives the compositions a sense of density and permanence, while preserving the richness of its individual tones and textures. Light moves across the uneven surface, emphasizing the sculptural quality of the mosaic and turning the material itself into an active part of the artistic image.
Created either as independent works or as part of an architectural environment, the mosaics establish a relationship between image, material, and space, conveying a sense of durability and belonging to place.
